Vidyadhar Bhattacharya
Vidyadhar Bhattacharya (Bengali: বিদ্যাধর ভট্টাচার্য) was the chief architect and city planner of Jaipur city.[1] A Bengali architect, he was approached by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh in 1727 to build one of the earliest planned cities of India.[1] He used principles of Shilpa Shastra and Vaastu Shastra to create a grid-based model of city.
The Vidyadhar Garden near Galtaji and Sisodia Rani Bagh was built in memory of Purohit Vidyadhar Bhattacharya.[2]
